The apartment is beside one of Vieste’s most atmospheric little squares, along a narrow alley framed by broad medieval arches, history and local legends. Punta San Francesco, the ancient convent and the old town’s main viewpoints are within easy reach.
Pizzomunno and Lungomare Mattei
The famous limestone monolith associated with the legend of Cristalda and Pizzomunno is about 600 metres away. The seafront extends for roughly three kilometres and offers a wide choice of beaches.
Vieste beaches and seafronts
In addition to Lungomare Mattei, Lungomare Europa is breezier and popular with kitesurfers. Host recommendations include Scialmarino, San Lorenzo, Molinella and the small Baia dei Porci.
Tremiti Islands
Boats leave from Vieste harbour for the Tremiti archipelago, known for snorkelling, diving and clear water. Guests are advised to confirm schedules and book in advance.
Gargano excursions
From Vieste, guests can take boat trips to the sea caves along the coast, as well as enjoy hiking, horse riding and nature excursions across the Gargano. The host suggests Vieste in Tour, Maneggio San Giorgio Martire and Gargano Natour; always check availability, schedules and booking requirements.
Umbra Forest
From Vieste, the Umbra Forest can be reached via the inland roads of Gargano National Park. Shaded trails, beech woods and picnic areas offer a day immersed in nature; check access and trail conditions before setting out.
Gargano trabucchi and villages
Starting from Vieste, follow the coast towards Peschici to see the historic trabucchi, then continue to the towns of Vico del Gargano and Rodi Garganico. Check trabucco opening times, visits and travel times in advance.
